my background: i grew up in a small town in china bordering north korea, russia & mongolia. my mom was a pharmacist and my dad runs a local construction material business - while neither of them went to university, their optimism and resilience inspire me every day. at 16, i dropped out of high school to figure out how to come to the u.s. for college. at 17, i taught myself the SATs and 10 APs. at 18, i worked for 3 non-profits in china and got an offer from tesla... today, i live in a shoebox studio in chelsea and partner with early-stage applied AI (pre-)founders. life has been totally wild since i took a leap of faith 10 years ago - but just like the founders i get to work with, you have to be really crazy to build something really great
